Colleges and universities handle a lot of academic, operational and personal data. Therefore, they require Artificial Intelligence as well as the use of efficient and up-to-date devices and tools.

The way education is provided is changing radically. Distance education is now commonplace, using high-quality video calls and well-designed online learning platforms. By applying Artificial Intelligence in education, it is possible to create appropriate software to make students and teachers more productive.

A new AI-based method creates intelligent systems after a teacher teaches a computer by demonstrating various ways to solve a problem in a topic and then correcting the computer if it answers something incorrectly.

"A student could learn one way to solve a problem and that would be enough," explained Daniel Weitekamp (teacher). "But a tutoring system needs to learn all kinds of ways to solve a problem. It needs to learn how to teach how to solve problems, not just solve them."

Traditional methods of educational assessment are effective in analysing student behaviour, but Artificial Intelligence goes further. AI algorithms can score quizzes, identifying the segments of students with the most problems or the topics that generate difficulties for the most students. This gives teachers more time and information to programme appropriate content and deliver a higher quality education tailored to their students' profiles.
